Syzygy Teams coaches funded startup founders, executives teams, and mid-level business owners to align and amplify the strengths of existing talent, make smarter hires, and build flexible management practices that increase resilience, adaptability, and market alignment.

Syzygy, a term borrowed from biology and astronomy, denotes a state of alignment in a dynamic, living system. Business leaders agree that “alignment” is essential for success, but the traditional approach to alignment – strategic planning, cascading goals, and annual budgets – hinge on assumptions of market stability and predictable rates of change that no longer hold. Syzygy offers a more flexible model of alignment that better fits our current environment and living systems more generally.

About Julie

Julie Rennecker, PhD

CEO & Chief Catalyst (aka "the Team Whisperer")

Julie founded Syzygy Teams to address the recurring people issues she saw wasting talent, creating inefficiency, and causing burnout. She works with leaders and teams to build respectful, life-giving organizations that are good for people, profits, and the planet.

Her unique perspectives on complicated team, leadership, and customer issues is grounded in her real world experiences as a former ER nurse, internal organization development consultant, business school professor, and startup executive team member.

She earned a BS in nursing from Purdue University and a PhD in Organizational Behavior from MIT’s Sloan School of Management where she developed expertise in cross-functional teams, culture, and change. Subsequently, she has earned certifications in Appreciative Inquiry from the David Cooperrider Center for Appreciative Inquiry and in Reinvention from The Reinvention Academy.

Based in Austin, Texas USA, she has been active in the local life sciences innovation ecosystem as a consultant, mentor, and connector while serving national and international clients.
